The students of Harmon Middle School are hosting a special American Red Cross school blood drive and they need your participation!  Friday, February 29th, 2008 from 3-8 p.m. in the middle school commons The project is called Heroes in the Making. This community service project Community Service Project educates students about community service and the need for blood and encourages students to help save three lives by inviting someone to donate blood on their behalf. The Beta Club is sponsoring this event and all participating students Elementary will be recognized as Heroes in the Making. For parents with more than one child in the school, all your students will be recognized. Please help our current blood emergency by donating!! The Blood Drive Info: Please indicate your ability to attend the drive by signing your student’s pledge card to donate blood on Friday, February 29th, 2008 from 3-8 p.m. in the middle school commons. If you are not able to donate blood, perhaps a friend or relative might be willing to donate for your student? To Schedule an Appointment: This blood drive is by appointment. To scheduleobtain an appointment follow the instructions on the attached page. Try to respond by January 31st. Are you Eligible to be a Donor? In general, you are eligible to be a donor if you are 17 years of age or older; weigh at least 110 pounds; are in good health; are not on any antibiotics for infection (Rx must be completed); and not experiencing cold/flu symptoms the day of the donation. Criteria changes; youChanges: You can now donate if you have a recent tattoo or have an Iodine allergy (alternate scrub available).
