Aurora City School District Residents,

This open letter to the community is our invitation to you to provide us with feedback about our decision to go on the ballot this November and any other issues and concerns you may want to share. To give all residents an opportunity to participate in this discussion, we are scheduling small group discussions (coffees) throughout the school district.

During the past few years, our community has been experiencing significant growth in its population, and projections indicate this trend will continue.

As a result of the increasing number of families moving into our school district, we will continue to need more classroom space. Providing more space will ensure that class sizes will remain at optimal levels for high student achievement. Adding classrooms also means adding staff to instruct those students that fill them. Our challenge is to determine how the district can provide the space and staff it needs at the lowest possible cost in both the short term and long term, while still providing the successful academic climate that Aurora City Schools is known to achieve. We know we will need your help and cooperation to succeed in this goal.

If you would like to either host or attend a coffee conversation or if you would like to personally talk with someone, please contact one of us.  Call the board office at 330-995-7702.

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Board of Education
Aurora City Schools
