This park is in the wrong location.
Every time i bring my little one to Kiwanis Moore Park to play there, is some teenage boy yelling FUCK! & F U C K !! when he fails to do his stupid skateboard trick. It is sooo wonderful to be there with little kids and have to hear these kids swear at themselves. In addition, the slapping of plywood on pavement is sooo soothing. These boys attempt the same lame trick for and hour and land it only once, how is that fun?

And for the firemen supervising the skatepark, that's not what they are paid for. I can't wait for the toddler water feature to be built right next to the skatepark and then the basketball court. Put teen activites somewhere else, is that too hard to figure out?

as long as parents dont bring their little kids on their scooters to the skatepark injuries will stay down. and beginning skateboarders need to learn the fundamentals at home and not at a skatepark. skateparks are for after you get good. Also, the young kids need to learn the ways of a skatepark or rules, like not cutting people off, staying out of the way until there is an opening to go.

A rec center would have been a great place and have given the kids somewhere to go and mix with their friends -- but since that was voted down, I applaude the City for giving them something they can call their own and enjoy. I have taken my kids to other city's skateparks and have sat and supervised and have seen only kids having a good time doing something they enjoy -- and it is a "at your own risk" sport and the City would not be liable for injuries to my understanding.

100k for a skatepark is ridiculous!!!!!how many residents does this benefit....maybe 150 kids between the ages of 7-18.....i really think the money could have been better spent to service the entire community...isnt streetboro still shut down??? has anyone talked to them about the numerous problems they have had with their park???

The city is not liable for anything i think. They will post rules and ride at your own risk signs.

In Shaker they require an ID card for the little hoodlums to ride in the skatepark.

no way, I can't wait for the lawsuits. A comminity pool or rec center would be in the best interests of the community.

too much money for skateboarding. What about a community pool instead which would encompass alot more people and families, and would also become profitable? Maybe this one should have gone to the public for a vote. I cannot justift $100K for skateboards.
