The Olive branch is a symbol of Peace, in order to bring peace, please read this, it's long and it's overkill i know, but you only have to read it once. SORRY
You are welcome to comment. I like comment threads with a wide spread of thoughts and opinions, I prefer to take a light hand at comment moderation, and thanks to excellent commenters, I am usually able to do just that. I am not looking for confrontation with you.
Due to increased traffic and irresponsible commentors we are enforcing this comment policy. We appreciate comments that are left on OliveAurora and welcome the increased interaction that comes from them. We love comments and welcome you to share your ideas with the community. We have put together this comment policy in the aims of being transparent about how comments appear on this site.
This is my webblog. I own the domain name, I pay for the hosting, and I write the words. As such, I am responsible to any number of authority figures for its content. With this in mind, I reserve the right to mark-up any text I find offensive, off-topic, or just plain stupid as such. In extreme cases, I may delete comments. In cases of recurring abuse, I may blacklist individual IPs or domains. If you don't think this is fair, please let me know.
The policy is simple: this is not a democracy. I can delete anyone's comment at any time for any reason. Of course, the only reasons I'm likely to delete anyone's comments are for violating any of the rules on this page.
A good rule of thumb is to comment as if the person to whom you are commenting is standing in front of you, is built like a linebacker, and has both a short temper and excellent legal representation. (that's a joke!)
Show respect, be civil, no ad hominems (look it up, i had to). Golden rule and all that. If you'd like to berate me, feel free to send me an e-mail. If you show respect to me I'll show respect in return. Regular commenters get some leeway. So if I know you, I'll be less mad if, for example, you post something that's off-topic. But if you post anonymously (without an e-mail address or a web site) and aren't a regular, I'm not likely to care much about deleting your comment if I feel it's warranted.
That said, I reserve the right to edit all comments, and to moderate all comment threads, as I see fit. Your comment is more likely to be moderated if it contains phobic content (based on race, sex, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, etc), is a personal attack or threat toward another commenter, is entirely unrelated to the entry topic, has such poor grammar and spelling that it annoys me, or if I find it or you obnoxious and decide I've had enough. Don't like it? Don't comment. Simple. I participate in comment threads. Fire away at me. You need to be aware that I respond to tone as well as content. If you argue poorly or lie, I may correct you. If you want to gauge my levels of tolerance, watch how others comment and triangulate accordingly.
Comments and professional debate are welcome, but the following is unacceptable:
Anonymous cowards are not welcome (my definition not yours)!
No potentially libelous comments. No obscene or racist comments. No personal attacks, insults, or threatening language Do not post private or personal information. No comments totally unrelated to the topic of the post. No commercial promotions (except paid advertisments) or spam. No links or URLs to material that is not directly related to the discussion. Do not plagiarize any material.
Violation of these policies may mean any of the following: Comments may be removed or edited. You may be blocked from commenting in the future. We may contact your Internet Service Provider or report you to the proper authorities. We may draw attention to your silliness and make fun of your post.
By posting a comment you agree to indemnify OliveAurora or any other entity or person(s) associated with the administration, production, and publication of OliveAurora from and against all liabilities, judgments, damages, and costs (including attorney's fees) incurred by any of them which arise out of or are related to the content that you post. Comments are intended only for the personal, non-commercial use, and may not be used for commercial purposes or for any organized political activity.
OliveAurora reserves the right to monitor content posted on the Service, and to modify or remove any messages or postings that it deems, in its sole discretion, to be abusive, obscene, defamatory, in violation of the copyright, trademark right, or other intellectual property right of any third party, or otherwise inappropriate for the Service. OliveAurora also reserves the right to edit or modify any other submissions. Notwithstanding the foregoing, OliveAurora is not obligated to take any such actions, and will not be responsible or liable for content posted by any user in any comment, forum, chat, message board, or other area within the Service.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service as violation of the terms can lead to legal liability.

My current postion on anonymous comments I think it's important that people be able to post anonymously, especially in a small community, if they choose to. Sometimes, there could be repecussions to them, their family or kids, but sometimes people need to hear what they don't want to hear. Anonymity is an important part of freedom. So, I don't require a name or e-mail address to post a comment. (Not that it would matter much if I did, since they're easy to fake anyway, so all making this information required would do is annoy good commenters for having to provide it and me for having to receive fake information.) However, putting your real name and identity behind your words immediately earns you some respect. In addition, people who don't provide their identity when commenting often do so in order to feel free to say things they wouldn't say if they had put their name behind their words. So while I allow anonymous comments, I encourage commenters to put their name behind their words. In addition, along with the added respect I have for someone who posts a comment with their identity comes a much higher threshold for deleting a comment I might otherwise delete had the person been anonymous.
