The golf course will open to the public on April 17.

The country club will have “free golf for the opening weekend” with guests only having to pay cart fees. The club will offer “season passes, a junior golf program and various tournament formats.”

The press release does not mention whether the club is being run by the owners, Aurora Recreation LLC, or a third party.

Aurora -- With no clear way to purchase the 226-acre Aurora Golf and Country Club that would not put the city into debt, Council voted 6-3 on March 23 against purchasing the land.

"My view is that in the near future, this city will have serious regrets about not making this purchase," Ward 6 Councilman Tom Dreher said before the vote.

Council reps Dreher, George Horvat and John Kudley Jr. were the only votes in favor of purchasing the golf club for $3.1 million.

FYI: last time I checked SR43 is only going to widened to three lanes.
I am guessing they will only make the intersections 4 lanes. The third lane on the main sections will allow traffic to continue to follow when a driver needs to make a left turn into a home or business. And, once Geauga Lake is developed you will need a wider SR 43. If you pass on the money the state will never give to you again and they will not give you any credit for refusing the their part of the funds. I am sure the Aurora Police would love for everyone to go 65 MPH on SR 43, they will make a killing writing tickets.

Tthe city is wasting millions on widening RT 43. Traffic does not warrant widening the road to 4 lanes, it will become a freeway with everyon going 65 mph. A TOTAL WASTE OF TAXPAYERS MONEY!!!

Nobody makes a fuss when the city wastes money. This land purchase is good for Aurora.
